Many of us have been driving in an unfamiliar area and miss our turn. Instead of driving to the next light and making a proper turn; you look both for a law enforcement officer and make that illegal turn. Less than five seconds later you see the rotation of blue and red lights and hear the dreadful sound of a siren. That sound makes your heart beat at marathon pace and your stomach sinks. Drivers should have all registration, dmv documentation and insurance paperwork in a location that is easily accessible. If you have received a ticket in the past check your driving record to insure the ticket has been handled.
A frequent questions that drivers ask Ticket Void traffic attorneys is when I am pulled over is there any way to get out of my ticket or get my fine lessened.
The first thing a driver must do is pull over. The most common mistake divers make when pulling their car to the side of the road is forgetting to use their turn signal.
Drivers can help officers feel safe by pulling over to a safe environment that is not going to put the officers safety in peril. A neighborhood or parking lot puts the officer at little risk of being hit by an automobile.
As the officer approaches your automobile roll down all windows; this will allow the officer to observe passengers in the back seat and clear anxiety that you may be hiding objects in the back seat.
Place your hands in a visible location that the officer can see.
Give the officer firm honest answers to all questions. When you are instructed to retrieve your insurance, announce to the officer what area of the car you are reaching for.
Be polite because this could be your lucky day.
