Dennis Quaid is in the news for a small but controversial conclusion to a dinner outing. Many are of the belief he was given preferential treatment from the Hollywood police department. After a late dinner Mr. Quaid, his wife and a friend jumped into his SUV headed presumably home. After Mr. Quaid turned on the automobile a police car pulled up alongside him asked him to roll down his window and gave a short speech about Drinking and Driving. Quaid was allowed to exit his automobile and return to the restaurant to call a cab.
I wonder how many average citizens would have been given the same warning and treatment. Technically sitting behind the wheel of a running automobile could land you a DUI. It is nice to be given a warning about Drinking and Driving.
